Just ten minutes inland lies the increasingly popular Lake Vinuela and the hills of the Axarquia - wonderful walking country. Behind Villa Verdiales is the 18 hole golf course of "Baviera Golf". The course is open to all at very reasonable prices and equipment can be hired.
Restaurants are plentiful close by but being as yet a fairly unspoiled area they are mainly Spanish. As Caleta de Velez is a fishing port there are some pretty good seafood restaurants. Add to this one or two Chinese, the odd Indian and a few English/French restaurants and you have something for pretty well everyone.
The next town up the coast is Torrox and then Nerja. These towns offer a variety of entertainments and every village along the coast has a weekly market. The markets in Caleta de Velez and Torre del Mar are on Friday and Saturday.
Whatever you enjoy on holiday, be it curling up with a book by the pool, scuba diving, horse riding or hang gliding you will find it close at hand when you visit Caleta de Velez.
